How to Add a Paywall to Calendly Using Any Payment Processor

  • Name
    Meiring de Wet

If you're selling coaching sessions, consultations, or any kind of paid meetings through Calendly, you've probably hit this wall: Calendly only supports Stripe and PayPal.

That's fine if you're in the US or Europe. Not so great if you're in South Africa, India, Nigeria, Brazil, or anywhere else where local payment processors make more sense for your customers.

This is exactly the problem we built our Calendly integration to solve.

What You Get

With CheckoutJoy connected to Calendly, you can:

  • Accept payments through any of our supported processors (PayFast, Razorpay, Paystack, Mercado Pago, and more)
  • Charge in your local currency
  • Automatically send single-use scheduling links after payment
  • Works on Calendly's free plan

The key here is the single-use scheduling link. When someone pays, they get a unique link that only works once. They can't share it with a friend to get a free session. Once it's used, it's done.

How It Works (The Quick Version)

  1. Connect your Calendly account to CheckoutJoy (one click if you're already logged into Calendly)
  2. Create a Calendly product and link it to your event type
  3. Set up your checkout page with your preferred payment processor
  4. Share the checkout link with your customers

Total setup time: about 10 minutes.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1. Connect Calendly to CheckoutJoy

Head to Settings → Integrations and find Calendly under the Workflow heading. Click "Connect Calendly" and authorize the connection. If you're already logged into Calendly, you're done in seconds.

2. Create Your Calendly Product

Go to Products → Add Product and select the Calendly option.

Fill in the basics:

  • Name: Something descriptive like "15-Minute Coaching Session"
  • Thank You Page: This is important. Set this to a page on your site that tells customers to check their email for their scheduling link
  • Price: Set your currency and amount

3. Link to Your Calendly Event

Once the product is created, scroll down to the Calendly Settings section. You'll see a dropdown with all your Calendly events. Select the one you want to sell.

Enable "Send scheduling link by email" — this automatically emails your customer their unique booking link after payment.

You can customize the email content, but make sure to leave the {booking_link_url} placeholder in there. That's what gets replaced with the actual single-use link.

4. Set Up Your Checkout Page

Click "Edit Checkout" to customize your payment page. Select your preferred payment processor from the ones you've connected to your account.

You can also:

  • Add custom form fields (phone number, billing address, etc.)
  • Include terms and conditions with a link to your policy
  • Enable VAT/tax collection if needed

5. Share and Sell

Your checkout page is live. Share the link on your website, social media, or anywhere you promote your services.

When someone pays:

  1. They land on your thank you page
  2. They receive an email with their single-use scheduling link
  3. They click the link and book their slot on your Calendly
  4. You get notified and it's added to your calendar

Done.

Why Single-Use Links Matter

Regular Calendly links can be shared around. If you post your booking link publicly, anyone can book time with you.

Single-use links solve this. Each paying customer gets a unique link that expires after one booking. If they forward it to someone else, that person sees "a meeting has already been scheduled for this link."

You get paid for every session, every time.
